| Fellowship Gathering At Columbia University |
Date: November 17, 2001 (Saturday)
Location: Columbia University and Caffé Pertutti at 112th Street & Broadway, New York
(hosted by Wah Yan alumni attending Columbia Univeristy)Remarks: The purpose of the event was to foster fellowship with younger Wah Yan alumni, particularly students, who are usually too busy to attend other alumni functions. Instead of repeatedly asking them to come to regular chapter gatherings, the Board decided to reach out and to go to these alumni's own area of activities. The event (a campus tour and a luncheon), organized by Samuel Wu (H97), was a great success. Attendees included President Peter Lau and family (Lisa Lau, Allison Lau and friend Vivian Eng), VP Simon Lo and family (Carissa Lo and Derrick Lo), Honorary Secretary David Wan, International Convenor James Wong, Past President Lap-Yan Cheng, Past President Leo Wan and friend (Monic Kwee), and Martin Wong. Our hosts, the alumni attending Columbia University, were Samuel Wu (H97, senior), Gary K. H. Cheung (H95, post-graduate), Freddie Choi (H97, junior) and Alan Yeung (H99, sophomore).
