| Fall Hiking Trip & Dinner |
Date: November 3, 2007 (Saturday) Location: Ringwood State Park, New Jersey Remarks: Hiking Distance: approximately 5.5 miles
Difficulty: medium
Estimated Hiking Time: approximately 4 hoursReport:
by Eddie CheungHere are some photos of the hiking group and fall foliages. The first photo shows the trailhead for the Red and White Trails at Ringwood State Park.
It was windy, overcast, and the temperature was around 50 degrees. Without direct sunlight, the full colors of the fall foliages did not exhibit well.
There were eight participants in this hike of 4.5 hours (11:00 - 15:30), including a picnic lunch (12:30 - 13:00).
- Eddie (Leader) & Helena Cheung
- Simon & Betsy Lo
- David & Cinda Wan
- Tim & Ivy Loo
We took the White (Crossover) Trail from Ringwood Manor to Skylands Manor, enjoyed the New Jersey Botanical Garden there, and went back the same way. The original plan of taking the circular hike: Red (Ramapao), Green (Halifax), and White (Crossover) Trails was abandoned as deemed too difficult after "trying" it out.
After the hike, we had afternoon tea at Tim' home before we head to Wonder Seafood at Edison for a sumptuous meal. Victor & Angelie Ng joined us for dinner (18:00 - 21:30) in a table of 10.
It was a good day well spent to freshen up the muscles and the stomach.
